Career[]
2015-2016: M.A.S 0094 formation and debut[]

The five members of ONEWE met and formed the band themselves under their original name M.A.S 0094 and have been active as a complete band since 2015.
Around 2011 and 2012, members Kang Hyun, Harin and Giuk met and founded the band as the three youngest students of ModernK music academy,[3] when Giuk was in his final year of elementary school and Kang Hyun and Harin were in their second year of middle school. Giuk then later recruited his neighbor Dong Myeong as a vocalist for the band.[4]
In 2015, the band met and recruited their final member Yong Hoon. Then a college student, Yong Hoon entered the 2015 Suwon K-pop contest as a singer-songwriter where the other members, then just 15–17 years old, attended as the contest's session band. After Yong Hoon performed and won the first round on May 2, the band approached him with a cup of coffee and asked him to be their main vocalist.[4] Now complete as five members, the band chose the name M.A.S 0094 to mean "Make A Sound" plus the birth years of their youngest (2000) and eldest members (1994) and began busking together on the streets of Hongdae, Seoul that same month.
M.A.S 0094 released their first single "Butterfly, Finding Flower" on August 13, 2015 through their music academy ModernK under the label Modern Music. The single, written by the band's maknae Giuk, was dedicated to "Comfort women" (kindly referred to as Grandmas), women and girls who were forced into sexual slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army during and before World War II, and released in commemoration of the 70th anniversary since the liberation of Korea from Japanese colonial rule. The band donated all of their proceeds from the song and their weekly busking performances to support the 47 living Grandmas.[5][6]
On November 28, 2015, the band held M.A.S 0094: The First Concert at ModernK Seed Hall.[7]

On March 25, 2016, M.A.S 0094 released their first mini album Feeling Good Day, with the title track "Feeling Good" written and composed by all five members together.
The band made their official debut as M.A.S 0094 on August 2, 2016, on SBS MTV's The Show, performing "After 15 Seconds" from their Feeling Good Day mini album.[8][9]
On November 10, M.A.S 0094 released their second single "Starlight".
On November 26, they held the concert MASLAND.[10] M.A.S 0094's official lightstick was released on November 4, ahead of the concert.
On December 30, M.A.S 0094 performed as the session band for MAMAMOO's performance of "Décalcomanie" rock version at the 2016 KBS Song Festival.[11][12] On December 31, M.A.S 0094 performed as the only Korean act and final performer for the Hello Starlight Forest New Year's Eve Concert held at Changsha, China.[13]2017-2018: Make Some Noise, survival shows and rebrand as ONEWE[]

On January 6, 2017, the band released their second mini album as M.A.S 0094, Make Some Noise, with the title track of the same name.
On March 3, Modern Music announced that member Dong Myeong would be on hiatus from the band's activities in order to focus on individual activities for a while. Dong Myeong was then revealed as a contestant representing RBW on Mnet's survival program Produce 101 Season 2 which premiered on April 7, 2017. He was eliminated in the fifth episode placing 68th.
On April 1, 2017, M.A.S 0094 signed an exclusive artist contract with RBW Entertainment.[14] The band's name was then officially shortened to MAS and the leader was changed from Kang Hyun to Yong Hoon.
In October of the same year, MAS auditioned for the survival show The Unit. All five members passed the audition round. In the 7th episode, Harin (54th), Yong Hoon (59th), Giuk (60th) and Kang Hyun (61st) were eliminated. Dong Myeong made it to the finale where he was eliminated ranking 16th place.
In December of 2017, MAS, alongside the agency's pre-debut boy group RBW BOYZ (now ONEUS), joined RBW's I Shall Debut project. MAS and RBW BOYZ held the collaborative concerts Gemstone on February 25, Sparkling Piece on April 28, and Piece of U on June 24.
